Branded "Royalist", this was sold in RCA Victor’s own music stores. This one is exceptionally playable - neck, intonation, and frets all good - and charming as hell! These are the pickups most closely associated with Hound Dog Taylor, and they do roar. The neck has a nice heft to it without being unwieldy. Also, the neck is both glued in and bolted on. Cosmetically, it has a few scratches and dings, nothing bad. The electronics have been updated: new pots, knobs, and jack and a strip of felt has been added inside the pickup housing to reduce ringing (same idea as wax potting, but completely reversible) and increase clarity. No case. Basically, this guy’s ready to go, ready to be used, played, and enjoyed.
