*COMING SOON* 40s Kay A-style mandolin. These earlier A-style Kay mandolins are an entirely different beastie than the later, heavier-built models. Those are very cool in their own right, but these earlier examples have a woodier, more traditional mandolin sound and once the structural issues are sorted out, the voice really comes out of them. The neck joint has been reset and reinforced, fingerboard replaced, new bone nut, tailpiece, and bridge. It’s not the most aggressive-sounding mandolin but it has good volume and has an outstandingly pleasant sound.
